There comes a time when your passion is begins to pay - and that's when you become a professional.

Joining the 7-Eleven Cycling Team from 1988 - 1990 Norm served as a domestique, racing with iconic cyclists. These years taught him what it meant to suffer through stage races, to represent a team in Europe, and continue when he thought there was nothing left. It still feels surreal to be part of a team that ended up carrying American cycling onto the world stage.

As the 7-Eleven Team folded, it became the Motorola Cycling Team. Norm rode for Motorola from 1991 - 1994 along some of the sport's biggest names and on a team that defined an era in American cycling. They faced brutal schedules, relentless competition, and thousands of miles. These years taught him lessons in teamwork, discipline, resilience, and integrity.

Joining Saturn Cycling in 1995 was the right move at the right time. The team was built around strategy, depth, and consistency, and every race was approached with purpose.
