Norm Alvis is a dedicated figure in the world of cycling with an extraordinary journey that spans decades. He started in 1978 in wool jerseys, wood soled shoes and hairnet helmets. Competing on the world's biggest professional stages during the days where the domestiques and climbers were largely unknown - Norm was known for his resilience, work ethic, intelligence, and passion for the sport. He raced with top international teams and inspired teammates and fans alike. Norm was wise enough to avoid the doping controversy that erupted and nearly killed the sport. Today, he continues to compete as a masters cyclist proving that performance and joy on the bike do not fade with age. More than a racer, Norm embodies a lifelong commitment to cycling - sharing his experiences to motivate others to ride, race and pursue their own cycling path.
